What the Last 90 Days in AI Made Me Realize

Over the last few months, I’ve been paying close attention to how fast the AI space is changing — not just from a technology perspective, but from a people and business perspective.

And honestly, I think we’ve crossed an important point.

A year ago, most conversations around AI were about models: Which one is smarter? Which one writes better? Which one codes better?

Now the conversation is changing.

The real race is becoming: who builds the AI layer that people actually work through every day.

The Industry Is Moving Fast

You can see it happening across the industry.

OpenAI

Moving far beyond chat and into reasoning, agents, workflow automation, and enterprise operations.

Anthropic

Positioning Claude more like a serious work assistant for research, coding, finance, and large organizations.

Google

Integrating Gemini deeper into business tools and operational systems instead of treating it like just another chatbot.

The User Demographic Is Changing Faster Than the Technology

What stands out to me is that the user demographic is changing even faster than the technology itself.

In the Beginning

AI adoption was mostly driven by:

  • developers
  • startup founders
  • tech teams
  • early adopters
  • people experimenting with prompts and automation
Now — Operational Roles

AI is moving into everyday roles:

  • finance
  • HR
  • consulting
  • legal
  • marketing
  • project management
  • sales
  • operations teams
These users don’t care about “AI.” They care about outcomes.

They want:

  • reports completed faster
  • meetings summarized automatically
  • research done quicker
  • repetitive work reduced
  • better decision support

Who Will Win the Next Phase

That shift matters a lot.

Because I don’t think the next winners will simply be the companies with the most advanced benchmark scores. I think the winners will be the companies that make AI easiest to integrate into normal work.

The next phase feels less about “chatbots” and more about infrastructure.

The Next Phase Is About:

AI agents
persistent memory
workflow execution
multi-system coordination
embedded AI inside existing tools
vertical AI solutions built for specific industries

In other words, AI is slowly becoming infrastructure.

What I Expect Over the Next Few Months

I think we’re going to see another acceleration:

  • more autonomous AI workflows
  • more enterprise adoption
  • more specialized AI systems
  • stronger governance and security discussions
  • less focus on prompts and more focus on execution
The Real Transformation

Personally, I think we’re also approaching a point where many employees may not even realize they’re “using AI” anymore. It will simply become part of how work gets done. That, to me, is the real transformation happening right now.

Disclaimer: These are my personal views and observations based on recent developments in the AI space and do not represent the views of my organization.
